SANCTUARY TESTIMONIAL – MAY 2025

“I have been using sanctuary products including 8-3-6 granular and Detonation for 2 years and have been very pleased with the products.  This year we incorporated a hi cal lime with detonation microbes on as well. I am a believer in feeding the soil along with the turf and am in infancy stages of try to reduce pesticide use on our property.  While I do not believe we will ever be an organic golf course, the rate of which pesticides are being taken away has lead me down this road believe at some point, there will not be many options at all. 
 
We typically are applying 0.5 lbs/N/M of 8-3-6 granular with aerification in April and August and predominately poa greens have performed extremely well in tough summers in the Mid Atlantic as part of our program.  We also used 8-3-6 on predominately bentgrass tees, approaches and fairways and had the same great results.  Len shared with me the research they have of detonations bug counts when mixed with commonly used pesticides and that’s when I knew I should take this product seriously, other research I have seen of certain Bacillus and Trichoderma strains (which Detonation has) has the ability to be foliarly absorbed by the leaf and the microbes are able to colonize form inside the leaf allows me to use it on all surfaces and water in immediately, or let dry and water at night. We have also done some DNA soil testing through Bio Makers and initial results show a well-balanced sand medium that has some good life to it!
 
Two other observations over the last 6 months have been reduced Witea Patch pressure on our poa greens in fall, winter and early spring with no fungicide use. We typically get witea pretty badly once we start to mke seedhead suppression applications.  We were able to really stretch our first dollar spot application on fairways about a month later than we usually do.
 
We have been able to maintain consistent playing conditions through the summer when the turf is just trying to survive.  Our spring greenup has been better and the golf course is also holding better color into late fall.
 
With these products at the core of our programs, our golf course continues to get stronger every year and the low use rates for turf make it affordable for the entire golf course.
